Reading Event "Yuku Kumo" at Ichiyo Memorial Museum - Experience the World of Higuchi Ichiyo

The Taito City Ichiyo Memorial Museum will hold a reading event of Higuchi Ichiyo's novel "Yuku Kumo" (Passing Clouds) on Sunday, May 3, 2026 (Reiwa 8), a national holiday, starting at 1:30 PM. The performer will be reading artist Naoko Fujii, and the event will last approximately 35 minutes. The venue is the museum's basement seminar room. The only cost is the admission fee, and no advance reservation is required. "Yuku Kumo" is set partly in Koshu Ofuji Village, the hometown of Ichiyo's parents. The current special exhibition "Ichiyo's Portraits and Scenes from Her Novels" also displays the magazine "Taiyo" Volume 1, Issue 5, where this work was first published, so visitors can enjoy both together.
