Ichiyo Memorial Museum to Hold Culture College "Higuchi Ichiyo and The Tale of Genji"

The Taito City Ichiyo Memorial Museum will hold a Culture College session titled "Higuchi Ichiyo and The Tale of Genji" on October 3, 2026 (Reiwa 8). The lecturer will be Mr. Ran Takiyama of Jissen Women's University, who will explore how the ideas and language of The Tale of Genji, which Ichiyo loved, were carried on in her own works. Capacity is about 20 people, selected by lottery, and the participation fee is 1,000 yen (payable on the day). Applications can be made by return postcard or online, with a deadline of arrival by September 14, 2026 (Reiwa 8). Lottery results are scheduled to be announced around September 15.
