Ichiyo Memorial Museum Displays the Final Production Note of the 5,000 Yen Bill

The Taito City Ichiyo Memorial Museum has been displaying, since July 13th, the final production note (serial number LD900000J) of the 5,000 yen bill (E-series) featuring a portrait of Higuchi Ichiyo, alongside the very first No. 2 note (serial number A000002A). This is a rare opportunity to see nearly the first and last of the approximately 5.05 billion 5,000 yen bills issued, displayed side by side. Please note that the commemorative booklet 'Higuchi Ichiyo: Living as a Novelist,' which was distributed to visitors, proved so popular that its distribution period was extended, but it is now no longer available.
