A One-Day Workshop at the Sumida Hokusai Museum Where Your Own Drawing Becomes Merchandise

Here's word from the Sumida Hokusai Museum about the hands-on event "Become Hokusai and Let's Make Fun Goods!" It's a project in which pictures you draw freely—Hokusai-style drawings, original characters and so on—are turned into goods right there on the spot, and you can also try drawing "just as Master Hokusai says," using drawing manuals such as the Hokusai Manga as your models. It will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00, in the lecture room MARUGEN100. No reservation is required; you can join as soon as a seat and tools become free, and the event ends once the materials run out. Participation fees are 500 yen for one can badge (three for 1,000 yen), 500 yen each for a magnet, eco bag, small furoshiki cloth, or key chain, and 1,000 yen for a kanzashi hairpin. Besides cash, payment can be made by credit card, QR code, transit IC card, or Halocal points. Since scissors and an iron are used, small children should take part together with a guardian. The event is hosted by event partner Zoumushi Kurage Rhythm and the museum.
