Heartwarming Human Comedy Set in Asakusa, "More Than Family, Less Than a Father," to Be Staged in September at Kaminari 5656 Kaikan Tokiwa Hall

Tokyo Asakusa Shinkigeki's production "More Than Family, Less Than a Father," supported by the Senzoku-dori Shopping Street, will be staged at Kaminari 5656 Kaikan Tokiwa Hall (5F/6F, 3-6-1 Asakusa, Taito-ku). The script is by Hiroshi Omori, with adaptation and direction by Takahiro Azuma. Set in "心春," a Showa-era pop song izakaya behind Asakusa Kannon, it is a heartwarming human comedy that depicts, with laughter and tears, the bonds of a family that goes beyond blood ties, as an uncle and local residents come together to raise an only daughter who has lost both her parents. The cast includes Takahiro Azuma, Yuta Fukuda (Fo~yu~), Maria Shimizu, Hanawa, and others. Performances run from September 13 to 20, 2026 (no performance on the 17th), with shows at times such as 13:00, 16:00, and 18:00 depending on the day. Tickets are all reserved seating: 8,000 yen for general admission and 4,000 yen for those aged 20 and under.
