August 24 Is the Kumagaya Stop of the Summer Tour — the Kokugikan's Museum and Shop Are Closed

According to the Japan Sumo Association's official website, in information released on August 24, 2026, the Grand Sumo Summer Tour will be held in Kumagaya City that same day. No bouts are scheduled at the Kokugikan, the Sumo Museum inside the building is closed, and the shop is closed as well. Incidentally, this day marks the 26th birthday of Kotobukinofuji, ranked fourth in the juryo division. As for tickets, information on tickets for the Grand Sumo Kyushu Tournament was released on August 7, 2026. Details on group applications for parties of 12 or more and on special school discounts have also been announced. Television broadcast schedules have been announced one after another as well: sumo-related programs are planned for August 24 on Nippon TV's "Ariyoshi Zemi," August 26 on NHK General's "Sports × Human: Grand Sumo, Tamawashi," and August 28 on Fuji TV's "Uwasa no Okyakusama."
