Ueno's National Museum of Nature and Science Introduces Its Permanent Exhibitions and Wide-Ranging Learning Programs on Its Official Website

The National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno, just a short distance from Asakusa, is sharing information about its exhibitions and learning opportunities on its official website. Opening hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the site also posts information on crowd levels, the special exhibition rooms, Theater 36〇, and the restaurant "Mouseion." The permanent exhibitions rest on two pillars: the "Japan Gallery," which covers the nature and formation of the Japanese archipelago and the process by which the Japanese people came to be, and the "Global Gallery," themed on the history of life on Earth and humankind. There are also outdoor exhibits, the parent-and-child exploration space "Compass," and "Kahaku VR," which can be enjoyed from home. On the learning side, programs are prepared for specific audiences, from preschoolers and elementary school students to university students and school staff. Events that anyone of any generation can join, such as Discovery Talks and the Kahaku Monogatari Wagon, are also introduced.
