The Ueno Royal Museum Announces Mail-Order Sales of the Grand Van Gogh Exhibition Catalogue and Applications for Critiques at Its Open-Call Exhibition

The official website of the Ueno Royal Museum has published its opening status along with various announcements. According to information released on August 24, 2026, only the gallery was open that day, while the 1st and 2nd floors of the main building were closed. The opening calendar lists September 8 and 9, October 1 through 9, and January 11 through 15, 2027, among others, as closed days, so it's reassuring to check before you visit. Among the announcements, applications are currently being accepted for written critiques for the open-call exhibition "The 39th Exhibition of Paintings of Japan's Nature." Also, the official catalogue of the "Grand Van Gogh Exhibition" is being sold online at Sankei iD; sales will end once stock runs out, and orders by phone are not accepted. In addition, a new catalogue featuring works from the collection, including "The 44th Ueno Royal Museum Grand Prize Exhibition," has been completed and can be purchased by mail order.
