Senzoku-dori Shopping Street to Hold the "Senzoku-dori Noryo Taikai" Summer Festival on September 6, with Disaster-Preparedness Experiences and a Self-Defense Forces Booth

The annual "Senzoku-dori Noryo Taikai" (Senzoku-dori Summer Cool-Off Festival) will be held at Senzoku-dori Shopping Street. It takes place on Sunday, September 6, Reiwa 8 (2026), from 12:00 to 18:00, with the venue being Senzoku-dori Shopping Street. At the disaster-prevention and emergency fair run by the Nihonzutsumi Fire Station, there will be earthquake experiences in a quake simulation vehicle, VR disaster-prevention experiences, initial firefighting drills with mock fire extinguishers, first-aid training using an AED, evacuation drills in a smoke experience house, a chance to try on a mini firefighter's coat, and more. At the Self-Defense Forces booth, visitors can enjoy an armored vehicle display, trying on camouflage uniforms, and VR experiences of parachute jumps and armored vehicles. At the children's play plaza, there will be a water slide, a bubble bazooka, and loach catching (dojo sukui). Along with the open-air food court lined with food trucks, there will also be an anime-song DJ stage with five DJs including Rina Aiuchi, and a cosplay photo session.
