Taito City Moves Up Flu Vaccination Start to September 25

On September 17, 2026, Taito City announced that the regular flu vaccination program for seniors and the cost subsidy for pediatric flu vaccinations, originally scheduled to begin on October 1, will now start earlier on September 25. This change comes in response to the flu season starting earlier than usual across Tokyo this year. Seniors aged 65 and over are eligible, with a co-pay of 2,500 yen, and the program runs until January 31, 2027. For children, those from 6 months old through the third year of junior high school are eligible, with subsidies covering 2,300 yen for a single subcutaneous injection and 4,600 yen for the nasal spray vaccine. Pre-examination forms will be mailed out on September 18, but they can also be issued at public health center counters even before they arrive by mail. Please note that medical institutions outside the ward will still begin on October 1 as originally planned, so anyone wishing to be vaccinated during September must visit a designated medical institution within Taito City.
