Ueno Zoo to Hold Gorilla Observation Event for World Gorilla Day

To mark World Gorilla Day on September 24, Ueno Zoo will distribute observation bingo cards in front of the gorilla house in the East Garden from September 24 to 27. On September 26, starting at 1:00 PM, volunteers will also provide commentary. Additionally, on September 20, a special video featuring gorilla keepers, produced in collaboration with six zoos across Japan, will be released. A collection box for used mobile phones and smartphones is also permanently set up in front of the gorilla house, with the proceeds donated to Terra Renaissance to support activities such as helping former child soldiers in Congo.
