Asakusa Opera Revival Performance: "Carmen" and "La Traviata" to be Staged at Toyokan

A performance recreating "Asakusa Opera," the musical theater that was popular in Asakusa Rokku during the Taisho era, will be held from October 1 at Asakusa France-za Engeijo Toyokan. Presented in a unique format narrated by a katsuben (silent film narrator), this marks the 5th installment of the project that has continued since 2017. This time, two-thirds of the performers have been renewed with new members, and the arrangements have also been significantly changed. The main programs, "Carmen" and "La Traviata," will be performed on alternating days, along with hit songs from the Taisho and Showa eras. Curtain rises at 6:30 PM, admission is 4,000 yen, running through October 11 (closed on the 7th). Announced September 14, 2026.
