Wagashi Shop "Taihoya" in Shin-Nakamise Renews with Theatrical Design
The wagashi (Japanese sweets) shop "Taihoya Asakusa Main Store" in Asakusa's Shin-Nakamise shopping street reopened on July 13th after renovation. With the theme "The shop is a stage, and wagashi are the actors," the walls are decorated with pine tree paintings created by an artisan who works on kabuki stage backdrops, and the shop displays items such as strawberry daifuku and genuine warabi mochi. Representative Kohei Yamamoto has recreated the taste of the confectionery shop his grandparents ran in Kagawa, and he is committed to face-to-face sales. A "one-day store manager" event is also planned for the 18th. Announced on July 16, 2026.
