Special Exhibition "100 Years Since His Passing – Master Nakarai Tosui and Higuchi Ichiyo" at the Ichiyo Memorial Museum

The Ichiyo Memorial Museum in Taito City will hold a special exhibition titled "100 Years Since His Passing – Master Nakarai Tosui and Higuchi Ichiyo" from October 24 to December 20, 2026. Nakarai Tosui was Higuchi Ichiyo's mentor in novel writing, and he had a varied career, including experience as a journalist in Korea and writing activities at the Tokyo Asahi Shimbun. Marking the 100th anniversary of Tosui's passing and the 130th anniversary of Ichiyo's passing, the exhibition introduces his life and his relationship with Ichiyo. Please note that the museum will be closed from October 19 to 23 for exhibit changes.
