Tokyo National Museum Campus Members Program: Free Unlimited Access to Regular Exhibitions with Student ID

The Tokyo National Museum has introduced a program that allows students and faculty from Campus Members affiliated schools to enjoy unlimited free admission to the museum's collection exhibitions (regular exhibitions) simply by presenting their student ID or similar identification. Across five exhibition halls, approximately 3,000 items of Japanese and Asian art and archaeological works are on permanent display, and photography is allowed for most pieces (with some exceptions). Special exhibitions are also eligible for discounts or free admission—students from member schools can view "Utagawa Hiroshige: Best Views of Edo," opening September 29, for free, while the "Daitokuji" exhibition, opening October 14, offers a 200 yen discount. Using the program is easy: just show your student ID at the main gate window. Announced September 8, 2026.
