"Sumida Gosai Art Festival" Opens in Sumida Ward, Showcasing Local Charm

The "Sumida Gosai Art Festival," held across various locations in Sumida Ward, opened on September 4th. In areas such as Kanegafuchi, Kinshicho, Ryogoku, and around the Sumida River, exhibitions, performances, and participatory events themed around local history, culture, craftsmanship, and social issues are being held. Four directors have organized programs based on their respective areas of expertise, structuring the festival around the theme of Sumida's "past, present, and future." The festival aims to help local residents discover the charm of their town and create opportunities for growth together. Before the opening, a briefing session for related parties was held, where a video message from Governor Yuriko Koike was also shown. The festival runs until December 20th, with venues and fees varying by program. The content is easily accessible from the Asakusa area across the Sumida River as well.
