Muslim-Friendly Japanese-French Restaurant "Engawa SUMIDA" Opens Near Asakusa's Kaminarimon

A new Muslim-friendly restaurant blending Japanese and French cuisine, "Engawa SUMIDA Japanese French Dining Asakusa Kaminarimon," will open on September 7 in Kaminarimon, Taito Ward. It is run by FF Japan, and representative Mika Okamoto along with other members from Japan and Malaysia have put their wish to "connect cultures through food" into the restaurant. Pork is excluded from the menu, halal-certified beef is used, and alcohol is also available as an option for those who choose it. The signature dish includes items like white salmon noodles. The restaurant also has terrace seating with views of the Sumida River and Tokyo Skytree, and has joined the local neighborhood association, showing that they value connecting with the community.
