Segaki-e Memorial Service Held at Sensoji Temple

At Sensoji Temple, the Segaki-e memorial service was solemnly held in the Main Hall on July 12th and 15th. Before the sacred altar in the inner sanctuary, the Chief Abbot (Kanju Daisojo) served as the lead officiant, with all the temple's priests in attendance, performing the Komyo-ku and Shakujo rituals. Following this, at the Segaki altar in the outer hall, a ceremony was held to pray for the repose of the departed. After the service, visitors also came to pay their respects at the Segaki altar, quietly joining their hands in prayer while remembering their ancestors and loved ones. As a traditional summer event, it continues to be quietly passed down among the local community.
