Segaki-e Memorial Service of the Kannon Sutra Recitation Society Held at Sensoji Temple

On July 12, a Segaki-e memorial service was held at the Daihaiden Hall of the Five-Story Pagoda at Sensoji Temple to console the spirits of deceased members of the Kannon Sutra Recitation Society, as well as all related and unrelated souls. In the hall, a Segaki altar was set up with offerings arranged upon it, and memorial tablets inscribed with the names of the departed were placed in rows. During the service, conducted with the Chief Abbot (Kanju Daisojo) as chief officiant, members joined together in chanting the Kannon Sutra, praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased.
