Snack Bar "Olive" Opens in Nishi-Asakusa, Famous Motoyawata Mama Runs Two Locations
A snack bar called "Olive" has opened across from "Shinonome Sake Shop" in Nishi-Asakusa, marking its six-month anniversary on September 5th. It's operated by Footen, which also runs "Hoshiya" and other establishments, making it the group's 6th location. Running the show is Yukie Sato (75), mother of the company's representative, a veteran who has run the snack bar "Olive" in Motoyawata, Chiba Prefecture for 48 years. At her son's invitation, she decided to open a location in Asakusa, and now lives a two-location lifestyle, commuting between Motoyawata on Mondays through Wednesdays and Asakusa on Thursdays through Sundays. The otoshi (small starter dish) is homemade, and prices are clearly displayed. She says she's looking forward to meeting a calm, relaxed clientele. Announced August 27, 2026.
