Asakusa Samba Carnival Parade to Be Held on Umamichi-dori to Kaminarimon-dori Streets on August 29

The "41st Asakusa Samba Carnival Parade Contest" will be held from 1:00 PM on August 29, along Umamichi-dori to Kaminarimon-dori streets in Asakusa. This event, which began in 1981, has now grown into a summer tradition that attracts approximately 500,000 visitors annually. On the day of the event, following the Communication League and Theme Samba League, teams from the S2 and S1 Leagues will parade in order, competing on the quality of their costumes and dance performances. The traditional Nagatanien "Ochazuke Car" is also expected to make an appearance. Viewing is standing-only from behind barriers, and reserved "Supporters Seats" will also be accepted on the day of the event. The event will proceed even in light rain. Announced on August 25, 2026.
