Yukata Night Market Returns to Yanagibashi, Famous Nori Toast Makes a Comeback

The "Yanagibashi Yukata de Yoichi" (Yanagibashi Yukata Night Market) will be held at "Yuusuzumi Hiroba" in Yanagibashi, Taito Ward, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on August 29. Organized by the NPO Machizukuri Taito, this marks the second year running, following last year's event. The gathering celebrates the nostalgic atmosphere of Yanagibashi, once a lively geisha district, and its highlight is a limited sale of "nori toast," a beloved specialty from the coffee shops of the area's heyday. About 12 food stalls offering shaved ice, gapao sandwiches, and more will be set up, along with a lantern-making workshop. Visitors are encouraged to come dressed in yukata.
